Hi! I'm a Science Kinesiology student at the University of Alberta with a deep passion for healthcare, wellness, and the science of human movement. My journey began in the world of competitive dance, where I developed a strong appreciation for the connection between physical activity, performance, and overall well-being.
This early foundation of movement inspired my academic and career path—fueling my desire to better understand the body and help others live healthier, more active lives. I'm currently working toward a future in healthcare or medicine, where I hope to combine my scientific knowledge with my lifelong commitment to movement and care.
Hi! My name is Haley, and I’m a Bachelor of Science student at MacEwan University with aspirations of building a future in healthcare and dentistry. As a lifelong competitive dancer, I’ve always been passionate about physical activity and the profound impact wellness has on both the body and mind.
As a competitive dancer for many years, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of physical activity — not just for the body, but for the mind and spirit. Dance taught me discipline, perseverance, and how important it is to take care of yourself inside and out. That experience inspired my passion for wellness and sparked the idea to launch this initiative.
Health Bridge Initiative is a student-led wellness movement dedicated to promoting active living and community connection through accessible events. Our mission is to inspire healthier lifestyles while giving back—proceeds from each event are donated to the University Hospital Foundation in support of local healthcare. By bridging wellness and philanthropy, we’re building stronger, healthier communities—one movement at a time. Rooted in a passion for health, movement, and compassion, this initiative aims to inspire others to live balanced lives, foster connection, and give back. Through education, community events, and meaningful partnerships, we are building a foundation of care that uplifts both individual well-being and collective good. This wellness initiative was born out of our love for helping others and our desire to make a positive difference in our community.
1. Host Impactful Wellness Events
Goal: Organize at least 6 diverse wellness events each year—including Pilates, yoga, runs, and more—to promote active living and community engagement.
2. Fundraise for Local Healthcare
Goal: Raise significant funds annually for the University Hospital Foundation to support local healthcare initiatives that improve lives in Edmonton.
3. Educate and Empower the Community
Goal: Share educational resources and wellness content that empowers individuals to lead healthier, balanced lives physically and mentally.
4. Build Partnerships with Local Businesses
Goal: Collaborate with local wellness brands, fitness studios, and businesses to enrich event experiences and grow community support.
5. Grow and Strengthen the Health Bridge Community
Goal: Build a strong network of local wellness enthusiasts, volunteers, and supporters united by compassion, community, and wellness.
